Members are requested to share their views pl on the following issue.1)what is the present situation in ur rly regarding promotion of a group B, ADEN to Sr scale i.e. how many years it takes ? 2)what is the time taken for an ADEN to get higher scale of PB3 in 80% criteria??

In ER those Gr. B of 2003 are still waiting for ADHOC Sr. Scale. However 5400 GP is given normally after 4-5 Yrs with retrospective effect, when it is due.
But this 9-10 yrs waiting for adhoc SS? Why not regular SS after a certain pre decided time as in case of Gr.A?

58 VIEWERS AND ONLY ONE REPLY! THIS SHOWS THAT GR B OFFICERS DONOT WANT TO DISCUSS REGARDING THEIR CAREER!! HOWEVER I WANT TO CLEAR OUR POSITION,IN ECOR 15 NOS OF GR B OFFICERS HAVE COMPLETED MORETHAN 10 YRS OF SERVICE AS ADEN AND STILL WAITING FOR SS AND NOBODY KNOWS WHEN THEY WILL GET. APART FROM THIS, ANOTHER AROUND 20 NOS OF ADENS COMPLETED MORETHAN 6YRS. SO,RIGHTLY AS MY FRIEND SAID THERE SHOULD BE TIMEFRAME PROMOTION FOR GR B OFFICERS ALSO .LET IRPOF TAKE THE LEAD.

On WR, it takes anything between 3-4 years for gr`B' officer to the grade pay of Rs.5400/-, about 10-12 years to get adhoc Sr.Scale.

The Sr.scale promotions are getting more time now than what it used to be earlier as a large number of Sr.Scale posts were offered as matching surrender to increase posts in HAG & SAG. Western Railway has only three revenue cadre posts in Sr.Scale as against 50 revenue posts in Jr.Scale. There are 15 permanent posts in JAG, 7 in SAG & 2 in HAG. So if you see the structure between Sr.Scale & JAG, you can see an inverted pyramid. A well organised cadre should have a broader base and should taper as we go upwards. Strength of permanent posts in Sr.Scale in Engg Dept in IR is 67 and corresponding strength in JA grade is 187 which again is an inverted pyramid.Hope this situation is rectified in the ongoing cadre restructuring.
